Lunchtime sees Marque Car Clubs and some friends provide a host of splendid cars for the public to have a ride around
the track for $5.00. The demand is always stunning and fun had by all,
particularly the drivers and we typically raise about $500.00 for the Cancer Society from the rides alone.
|
All "donations of large gold coins" for public entry to the event,
are donated directly to the Cancer Society,
We raise in excess of $4,000 p.a. for this great cause, helping demonstrate that "petrol-heads" do care for
the community. Photo is the inaugural presentation of funds to the Cancer Society, left; Trevor Boone MG Classic Motor Racing, right; Gordon McArthur and Roger Taylor Cancer Society seated. |

David Ingram of Hamilton
in his awesome red Jaguar MkV11,
was the deserving winner in 1999 of the Andrew O"Neill memorial trophy, which was donated by Diana O'Neill.
The award recognised a driver who epitomised the spirit of classic racing, from the perspective's of vehicle presentation,
driving skills and attitude. David is always to the fore in his fearsome Jaguar 'bus'.
The winner in 2000, was a well-known MG racer, who is usually seen in his distinctive purple Midget,
both on the track and on grass, but more often under the bonnet of his or somebody else's car.
However for the Charity event he again brought out the classic MGTF to play and had fun (nearly) all day.
The 2000 winner was Geoff Brader of Wellington.
The winner for 2001 was Malcolm Hall who campaigns a very period looking and crowd pleasing Mk3 Zephyr resplendent
in Sprague livery.
The winner for 2002 was a very well deserved Steve Hildred. His absolutely immaculate and wickedly quick Holden Monaro has been a crowd pleaser for several years now and he is
certainly one of the stars of every race meeting.
