Old Speckled Hen Run*
Feilding's Coach House Museum is home to an outstanding collection of rural New Zealand Heritage, showcasing over 140 years of history.
Visit the museum and enjoy a fascinating historical journey through the lives of our early settlers and the development of the Manawatu region.
Special collections include:
- Maori and the Early Manawatu Landscape
- Early European Settlement and Land Development
- Horse Drawn Era Vehicles
- Crawshaw John Deere Collection
- Spall Collection of Rare Tractors and Stationary Engines.
There will also be a display of 150 works of art by a local collector of art, believed to be “quite a collection.” The opening night on the 25th July is a black tie event with people from the art world from all over NZ.
We plan to gather at New World in Waikanae at 10:00am and will leave at 10:30am to drive directly to Feilding for lunch at 12 noon. If you need coffee to sustain you on this marathon drive, New World in Waikanae is the place to top up! Members from points north, please meet at the Museum at 121 South Street, Feilding at 12 noon.
We will have lunch at the museum and then have a look at the exhibits. The cost for lunch supplied at the Museum is $15 per head and consists of 2 club sandwiches, 2 savouries, 1 slice, fruit platter, orange juice and tea or coffee.
Entry to Coach House Museum will be $12 each.
Please confirm your attendance by Sunday 22 July so that we can let the Museum know how many lunches we need.
