A rare and sought after 1935 MG PA. Chassis number PA 0492. Engine number 730AP. For sale located in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The car is disassembled for restoration with some restoration complete.
Completed Restoration:
The wooden frame has been restored and assembled. Front axle assembly (bearings brakes etc) track rod and front springs. Rear axle assembly complete plus rear springs. Radiator and connections. New Front fairing. New Fire wall. Five new tyres.
The chassis, including front and rear wings, running boards and scuttle, are sanded and undercoated. The remainder of the body parts are sanded down and in good repair. All parts appear to be accounted for with the exception of seating, some instruments and carburettors. Included is an original service parts list and a copy of the Instruction Manual for MG Midget (PA and PB Series).
This is a very reluctant sale due to time and space constrictions and provides a unique opportunity for the genuine collector/restorer of a rare MG. Genuine offers only please.

- LR4SP ( Lynn Rogers, 4, Scatter Pattern ) billet camshaft. Basically a Kent 296sp on a new billet blank ( when it was made ). Good spread of hp and torque, nice cam for circuit racing and Targa ( I know from experience ). Not really suitable for road use, but maybe ok for fast road if you can live with it. Selling it because I have gone to a bigger cam. In good condition, no wear ( these cams are hardened, with soft cam followers ). I had it installed with an offset drive key to get the timing correct for my engine configuration, and you may need to do the same. $350 ono.
- Brand new ( in box, with all connectors etc ) cloth wiring loom for MKI MGB. I had this made to suit a MKI car, with a few changes - alternator instead of generator, 2 speed wipers instead of single speed, 4synchromesh pre-engaged starter motor instead of the 3 synchromesh Bendex starter motor. Has wiring for overdrive. Open to reasonable offers.
- Garage sale. I have wrecked 5 MGB / MGB GT's, MK I's and MK II's ( chrome bumper ). I have a garage full of all the parts "as removed" from them, everything from small trim pieces to aluminium bonnets, complete front suspensions ( wire wheel and disc wheel ) and a tube-type rear axle. MGTF 135 engine for sale.
It is still in the car and can be driven, etc.. In excellent condition, having done 46,000kms. I am putting in a different new engine as a project, hence the 135 motor is surplus. The 135 engine produces 134hp (100kW) at 6750rpm and 122lb-ft (165Nm) of torque at 5000rpm. Will include at least the inlet & exhaust manifolds and engine management loom. Price is $3,000.
MGTF 135 engine management system ECU.
It is still installed and working in the car and can be tested in that condition. This MEMS3 ECU is available in the UK on an exchange basis only for £241 excluding VAT, equivalent to an NZ price after freight & GST of about $700. My price, without the need for an exchange, is $750 if purchased with the engine described above.
MGTF or MGF Set of four wheels
11 spoke, MG TF160, silver sparkle, 7Jx16" wheels (without tyres). All in excellent condition. I believe they will fit an MG F, but the buyer will need to check this point. If so, it will turn it into a very distinctive car. Two had slight curbing but have been professionally turned giving a polished appearance on the outer 7mm of the rim. A single new wheel sells for £172 excluding VAT in the UK, equivalent to an NZ price after freight & GST of about $500.
