There are a number of points we want to detail, so that you are well briefed on what is going to happen over the five days.

Rally HQ and Accommodation - All activities specifically mentioned above, will take place at the Brentwood Hotel - 16 Kemp St, Kilbirnie - www.brentwoodhotel.co.nz - Reservations 0508 273 689 (Mention Group 79875 to get the special MGCC Room Rate. This is the only accommodation we have arranged, because at that time of the year there are manyother activities/events occurring in Wellington which means accommodation is at a premium. The Room Rate is $150.00 per night for two people in Studio units. Brentwood Hotel can accommodate all the participants including secure off-street parking for our cars and also car cleaning.

We do recommend if you are intending on coming booking your accommodation as soon as possible.

Cook Strait Crossings - We have made arrangements with Tony Hirst at Motorsports Discount Booking Agent, to enable those participants from the South Island to take advantage of the discounts available from the Interislander Ferry service.

Please note there are some changes to previous arrangements:

  • The best rates available including Full Flexi and Refund options available by booking through Tony.
  • All bookings are fully refundable providing cancellation is made 24 hours prior to departure
  • Payment for tickets is now required one week prior to departure.

Contact details are below to arrange your Interislander travel

Weta Workshop Experience Tour - This has been arranged for 4pm on Sunday 23rd February. Those who are going have to be there no later than 3.45pm at 127 Park Rd, Miramar. WWE is an offsite tour group space, where you will be taken on a guided tour through the space. You will learn about the creative processes behind the crafting of props and costumes and enjoy a screening of their behind the scenes documentary. On display, are many original items from projects they have been involved in over the years, like District 9, Lord of the Rings and Narnia. The tour takes approximately 1.5 hours in total and the cost per person is $33.00, payable when you complete your Entry Form. Note the tour is limited to 70 people, so we will adopt a strict register and pay rule for determining the number of people able to go. Your receipt will be your ticket.

Register Dinner for MGF/TF owners - With 2020 being the 25th Anniversary of the launch of the MGF the MG Car Clubs around the world (and spearheaded from UK) are looking to celebrate this milestone with a number of different events during the year. In conjunction with MG Car Club (Auckland Centre) MGF/TF Register and Alan Thorn the Register Manager we have agreed the National Rally will host the MGF/TF's at the Rally and will also arrange a special Register Dinner on Monday 24th February at the Rally HQ. Further details will be announced later; however, we want to encourage at least 25 MGF/TF's to attend the National Rally. Can you help us achieve that objective!!!

That's about it for the moment, but we will be sending out further Newsletters leading up to the National Rally with updates and other announcements.
